    Jim Faal – Educator, Educational Technologist, and Advocate for Quality Education

    Jim Faal is a dedicated educator, ESL teacher, and educational technology enthusiast with a strong passion for improving English language learning. Originally from The Gambia, he is currently based in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, where he teaches English in the Access Program. With extensive experience in language instruction, he has been actively involved in the program’s eighth cycle in Mauritania, helping students develop their communication skills and broaden their educational opportunities.

    Beyond the classroom, Jim is deeply committed to educational reform and professional development. He frequently engages in discussions about the state of education in The Gambia, advocating for quality improvements driven by teachers rather than authorities. His interest in educational technology extends to research, where he aspires to publish academic articles and present at international conferences.

    Jim is also an innovator in student engagement, leading several extracurricular projects at Les Elites, including a school library initiative, an English club, and a field trip program for the 2024–2025 academic year. His teaching approach incorporates interactive games, particularly for pronouns and possessive adjectives, making learning more dynamic and effective.

    An avid runner, Jim maintains an active lifestyle by running 10K several times a week. He also manages a YouTube channel, where he has uploaded educational content.

    Jim’s personal life is marked by exciting milestones. As he continues to grow professionally and personally, he remains dedicated to fostering a love for learning, mentoring fellow educators, and making a lasting impact on the students he teaches.
